FAQ
Help and frequently asked questions
Essential answers for using the service without overinterpreting the data.
No fire is shown. Am I safe?
No. It only means that no matching detection was found in the sources checked at the time of the search.
A source may be delayed, unavailable or fail to detect an event. If you see smoke or flames, or receive an official instruction, move away from danger and call emergency services.
A detection is nearby. Has my home burned?
It is impossible to conclude this from a heat detection. Its resolution, observation time and possible cause cannot establish the condition of one specific building.
The map and distance provide context. Only dedicated, sufficiently reliable data can describe the building’s condition; otherwise the relevant card remains “unknown”.
What does “source unavailable” mean?
FeuChezMoi could not obtain data from that source, for example because of an outage, delay or missing configuration.
The service does not replace it with an estimate. Try again later and check communications from the prefecture, municipality and emergency services directly.
Why are the dates different?
Publication or observation is the time given by the producer. Retrieval is when FeuChezMoi received the data.
A large gap may indicate less fresh data. The timeline places each item in time.
What should I do in an emergency or if I find an error?
In immediate danger in France, call 112 or 18. Follow the authorities’ instructions even if they differ from information shown by this service.
To report an error, email polgebenjamin@outlook.com. Identify the source concerned without unnecessarily sending personal data.
